Those flat brushless motors are sick. I remember reading about brushless motors in the early 90's and it blowing my mind.

I think its especially impressive considering we’re a liberal arts school with no engineering program. Designed and machined in house.
The American Solar Challenge has a track race qualifier, so i feel like American built cars are inherintly sportier than some of the cars built for the world solar challenge, where the whole race is across the outback with one hot lap during scruitineering.

Its built for efficiency, between the 2 of them we’ll have almost 14 horsepower to play with, but it means we can cruise all day on solar power alone or about 3o0 miles on a full battery.
